Was it really a snake? Most of us know the story of Adam and Eve—but do we know the whole story? In this episode of Live Life in the Spirit, Kristen and Penny take a closer look at Genesis 3 and the mysterious serpent in the Garden of Eden. What does the Hebrew language tell us? Could the serpent have been something more than an ordinary snake? And how does this connect to the fallen realm, Satan, the giants of old, and the Book of Enoch?
From the temptation in Eden and humanity’s fall to the consequences of sin, the serpent’s curse, and God’s promise of redemption, Genesis 3 contains far more than a story about eating forbidden fruit. We’ll explore the connection between the Garden, the fallen realm, the watchers and giants, and the larger biblical story that ultimately points toward Jesus Christ.
There are different interpretations of some of these passages, and we’re not afraid to wrestle with the questions. Our goal isn’t simply to tell you what to think—but to encourage you to dig into Scripture, examine the evidence, and discern what is true.
Once you know, you can’t unknow.
